Nursery and Kid's rooms

Ok so the baby is due in less than weeks
(I have no idea how that happened! Pregnancy has flown by!)

I still have two projects to finish in the nursery but for the most part it is done,

And I LOVE it...

I am hoping to do a reveal by the end of the week.
But until then I thought I would show you some eye candy and some of the nurseries that I fell in love with as I looked for inspiration....

Enjoy!

P.S. We are definitely having a boy but there are some seriously gorgeous little girls rooms out there so I just had to show a few :)

I just adore this one! It just screams the perfect baby's room to me

This is Jillian's baby's room over at The Virginia House. I seriously love it! Go check out the rest

This one is just darling too! I do love the really neutral rooms

Just so cute! I can't wait until we have a house and can have a great play room!

This is a mood board from over at The Lettered Cottage which is one of my absolute favorite blogs!

I love this idea! And I love how each bunk bed has a different color scheme

This nursery almost made me change my mind about our nursery! And I had already painted and everything!  I found it here if you want more details on it.

This is obviously girly but I loved the crib and the bright colors!
Hope you enjoyed some of the cute rooms that inspired me!

My baby shower

I had my baby shower last weekend hosted by my sweet and talented sister, Katie.
It was a wonderful time!
She did an amazing job on all the details, and absolutely everything was DIY homemade.

I'll just let pictures speak for themselves :)
(Sorry, I've been busy, or lazy so I didn't edit any of the pictures.)

My sister wanted to use candy to decorate because I am very much a candy kind of girl!

I didn't get a great picture of the food table but it was amazing!
The menu:
Chicken salad sandwiches on homemade rolls
Pasta salad
French Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting
Oreo Pops
Mini Peach Pie Pops
Mini Ginger Ales, Sunkists, and waters

At this table my sister had everyone decorate a page for the baby's first ABC book. It turned out darling and will be something I treasure.

A little sneak peak into the nursery.... :)

Who doesn't love tiny little shoes!

My sister Katie and me

Julia and me. We are due just a few days apart :)

I wish I could show you the rest of my sister's house because it is amazing and she is super talented!

I am so grateful for my sister for hosting my shower and for being able to get together with good friends and celebrate being pregnant and the coming of this little man into our lives!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures :)

Linen

I am just swooning over the texture of linen these days.

Also the greyish color of a lot of linen.
Also this fabulous fluffy throw! I mean I just want to lay down on that bed. (Ikea)

Confession... I did buy the white pillows for our couch :)
I'll have to tell you more about my ikea purchases soon.

This couch is seriously gorgeous and so comfortable! Me and the hubby took a walk around one of the fancy malls here in Nashville, where they have a Restoration Hardware.
Of course we went in and I fell in love with this couch....

Not only did I like it, he approved the comfort of it!
If we weren't poor students I would have bought it right then and there!
I was pretty darn tempted... :)

(Also those cable knit pillows are pretty fabulous too, may just have to try and make me some of those.)

This table cloth is the perfect table cloth!
So versatile, and simple, and just gorgeous...
I love the way it falls...

Oh I just love linen,
don't you?

My kind of day

I slept in this morning...
It was great. I got ready and then went to go eat breakfast.
I opened the cereal cupboard and stood there for a few moments.

Granola or Peanut Butter Fusion mixed with Cocoa Puffs?

The moment of truth....

I went with the peanut butter fusion.

So.... it's going to be that kind of day.

The "do what I want" kind of day.

And I feel pretty darn good about that :)

For those of you that would have chosen the granola, don't worry I used fat free milk ;)

Have a wonderful Monday friends!

Lazy day....

I am in a weird mood today.
Just a little funk I guess.

Don't worry it'll all be over soon...
The honey and I are taking a little trip tomorrow.
We are going to Atlanta for a little two day one night trip.
Just a little vaca before the baby comes.

Why Atlanta?

Because it's where the closest Ikea is.
Pitiful I know.
But I am so excited for it

The honey is playing some gory video game in the living room
so I am cuddled up in bed
eating pizza
dropping crumbs on my pregnant belly
Have I mentioned how much I love having a baby belly
and feeling my little guy kick and squirm
it's the best feeling in the world.

Anyways, I'll be back on Wednesday
with some Ikea goodies
and maybe even some pictures.

Have a great start to the week!

Two for one post and some exciting news...

I haven not blogged in so long. I mean really so long!
Since I started working back in October.
Life can get so crazy sometimes.

Everything speeds up and happens really fast.

Instead of panicking I decided to slow down as much as I could and just....
breath.

Find balance.

Focus on what matters most.

I found out I was pregnant in September.
Such wonderful and exciting and beautiful news!

But our lives are about to change forever.
I wanted, no I needed to find balance.

Balance of all the important things.
After all life is a balancing act...

So I started simplifying.

I stopped cooking as much
I use cake mix from a box now
I don't mop or even sweep my floors as often as I should
I started sending more emails instead of handmade cards.

And you know what?
Balance and simplifying feels good.

It feels really good.

Better Homes and Gardens

These are two places I would love to spend some time on a gorgeous spring day.

So I just thought I'd share the beauty with you.

Spring is so close, it's in the air.

Tell me you can feel it too?!

I love spring!

This year we are in a new state so I am excited for a "new" kind of spring.

What do you love about spring where you live?
