Loving where I'm at...

Edit and Warning: Started this post before Christmas and am just now getting around to publishing it:)

We are in Las Vegas visiting my husbands family for Christmas and he had an interview for an internship for this upcoming summer. It's a great firm and something I think he would be really happy doing.

Best part is that he got it! Yay for the hubs! He's so smart and is such a hard worker and I am so proud of him!

The only problem is that Nashville, Tennessee, and the South have sort of captured my heart. I love it here. And it breaks my heart to think about leaving.

I mean I knew the day would come. Sooner than later. We never planned on staying out here past school. But it still makes me sad.
I have moved to five different states in the last four years, so I know that I can love anywhere that I am, especially now that my wonderful husband and beautiful son are always there with me :)

My heart has been a farm girl, a mountain girl, a trees and rolling hills girl, a Southern girl....
but never a desert girl. And I think it's going to be a little harder adjustment for me.
But I can do it :)

The moral of this story is that now that it is so real that we will be leaving Nashville, (or for at least the summer) is that I want to soak it all up. I want to take it all in. Enjoy ever bit and piece and part of Nashville and the South while we can.

I'm hoping for a beach trip to Alabama, a weekend trip to Savannah Georgia (pretty please honey ;)
And all sorts of other fun and interesting experiences.

Hope that you are all enjoying where you live. Loving it. Experiencing everything you can because you never know when you might have to leave it....

Merry Christmas and have a beautiful and magical weekend!

Ramble Jamble in Blackberry Bramble

That's a line from a favorite children's book I've been reading to my sweet little one called Jamberry. But it fits me and this post perfectly because basically I just want to say that I want to ramble, on and on about all the things I love and adore.

When I started this blog it had no focus, absolutely no direction and I kind of just started it because I felt like a little kid trying to be friends with the big kids and I wanted to be a part of their super cool world (translation: I started a blog because I think cool women blog and I wanted to be one of them.) But I never had any real content. Well Miss Beach Cottage taught me a little bit about content and she basically said it should be whatever you love, whatever gets you out of bed in the morning, whatever you talk about with a girlfriend over lunch or your sister on a long phone call. So I thought about that. And I thought some more. And after a little more thought I came up with what my blog should be about.

Drum roll please....

It should be about all my ramblings.

So from now on there will be lots of posts about a sweet little dude who stole my heart, a super awesome hubby, decorating my house, probably some failures, definitely some successes, our happy moments in this little family, weekends, thrifty finds, fave things, yard sales, cooking and baking and crafting, what I dressed my little dude in and what I feed him (because after all he's adorable and EVERYBODY wants to hear all about him ;) Basically whatever I want, because I'm the mom and I'm the boss! (I'm not actually the boss, pretty sure little dude is, but can I at least pretend I'm the boss?)

Maternity Photo Shoot

Ok let me start out by saying that this is a big deal for me. For about a million reasons but the main ones being these...
1. I don't like having my picture taken.
2. I am really private person, as in these are the first "belly pics" being posted online ever :)
3. Pregnancy has been really special for me. It's been such an amazing spiritual and emotional experience. All I have ever really wanted to do with my life is marry a wonderful man (check :) and have children (Almost check ;)  I have loved being pregnant and can't wait to become a mother, I guess it seems a little scary to share these pictures sense they capture my feelings so perfectly.

That being said though, I have a wonderful friend Christy who is an amazing photographer (if you live in the Nashville area and want pictures done check out her blog, she is so talented!) and she offered to do some maternity pictures for me. At first I told her no thanks but she talked me into it and I am SO glad she did! My husband and I had such a fun time at this shoot and I am just in love with how they turned out! They will forever be a precious keepsake.

Isn't he handsome! I am so hoping our little man get's his dad's looks and brains :)

I adore this picture! I am having it printed and am going to use it during labor to help me focus and relax :) The quilt was a gift from my grammy when we got married. I love that we used it as a prop.

These pictures were taken at 37 weeks and I am just 3 days away from 40 weeks. Not sure little man is coming anytime soon, but I am patiently waiting and enjoying the days.

Anyone have any advice you think I need to know before going into labor? I'll be honest I am obsessed with hearing birth stories these days so feel free to send yours my way :)

Have a great rest of the week!

Mint Love

Ok so I LOVE anything mint! I love the smell, the cool feeling, and the tingle. I can't really explain why it's so relaxing and wonderful for me, but it is and I just have to share some of my favorite mint products with you. I also love that all of these are really affordable, that always seems to help ;)

Burt's Bees.... Who doesn't love this stuff? I'll be honest I have never used any of their other products because they are too expensive for me, but I love this stuff so much I won't use any other kind of chapstick.  Tin cost $2, tube cost $3

Earth Therapeutics foot massage. This stuff has the best minty smell and feels great but doesn't leave your skin feeling cold. They also have a foot cream that I personally like a little bit better because it's thicker and creamier, but I still really love this product.  Cost $6.96

Suave Rosemary Mint. I practically shower just so I can use this! It smells so good and just feels so good to wash your hair with! I haven't tried the conditioner yet but I will tell you that I used to use the Aveda kind and I actually like the Suave version more :) Usually cost around $1.80
Hope you I shared a new product with you that you can use and enjoy!

Nursery and Kid's rooms

Ok so the baby is due in less than weeks
(I have no idea how that happened! Pregnancy has flown by!)

I still have two projects to finish in the nursery but for the most part it is done,

And I LOVE it...

I am hoping to do a reveal by the end of the week.
But until then I thought I would show you some eye candy and some of the nurseries that I fell in love with as I looked for inspiration....

Enjoy!

P.S. We are definitely having a boy but there are some seriously gorgeous little girls rooms out there so I just had to show a few :)

I just adore this one! It just screams the perfect baby's room to me

This is Jillian's baby's room over at The Virginia House. I seriously love it! Go check out the rest

This one is just darling too! I do love the really neutral rooms

Just so cute! I can't wait until we have a house and can have a great play room!

This is a mood board from over at The Lettered Cottage which is one of my absolute favorite blogs!

I love this idea! And I love how each bunk bed has a different color scheme

This nursery almost made me change my mind about our nursery! And I had already painted and everything!  I found it here if you want more details on it.

This is obviously girly but I loved the crib and the bright colors!
Hope you enjoyed some of the cute rooms that inspired me!

My baby shower

I had my baby shower last weekend hosted by my sweet and talented sister, Katie.
It was a wonderful time!
She did an amazing job on all the details, and absolutely everything was DIY homemade.

I'll just let pictures speak for themselves :)
(Sorry, I've been busy, or lazy so I didn't edit any of the pictures.)

My sister wanted to use candy to decorate because I am very much a candy kind of girl!

I didn't get a great picture of the food table but it was amazing!
The menu:
Chicken salad sandwiches on homemade rolls
Pasta salad
French Vanilla cupcakes with chocolate frosting
Oreo Pops
Mini Peach Pie Pops
Mini Ginger Ales, Sunkists, and waters

At this table my sister had everyone decorate a page for the baby's first ABC book. It turned out darling and will be something I treasure.

Me and Ashley

I wish I could show you the rest of my sister's house because it is amazing and she is super talented!

I am so grateful for my sister for hosting my shower and for being able to get together with good friends and celebrate being pregnant and the coming of this little man into our lives!

Hope you enjoyed the pictures :)
